Lesley Dobbie

Lesley Dobbie
Owner and Optometrist

Lesley Dobbie graduated from Glasgow College of Technology in 1989, and from there carried out her pre registration year in the Glasgow Eye Infirmary and  Kilgour Optometrists in Ayr. Following registration  with the General Optical Council in 1990, she took up a full time post with Kilgour Optometrists.

Kilgours had close links with the hospital eye service and as a result had many unusual and challenging cases. Lesley therefore obtained a wealth of experience in dealing with large range of patients, with all sorts of problems. She stayed with Kilgours for 14 years, ultimately becoming a partner in the business.

In 2004, Lesley parted company with Kilgours to raise her three children. During this time she worked part time as a locum in many practices in Ayrshire.

In 2011 the practice of Ian Faith in Ayr and Galston became available, and Lesley was keen to start a new chapter in her career with a new business.

Lesley has a keen interest in children’s eyecare, diabetes and contact lenses.
